CROCUSWORD 2014

In line with our Prehistoric Life and Ancient Civilizations theme, for this year's CROCUSWORD, we bring you a few fun word puzzles.

Why?
Because kids love unraveling the mysteries of their world and discovering the joy of putting things in order. Well, that, and the fact that we are excited to give away some wonderful prizes for two all-correct entries!

Who can enter?
All kids are welcome to participate if they find it challenging and interesting enough. The idea is to discover and learn, so parents are encouraged to work with their children in solving these puzzles.

What to do?
Click on the link to view the puzzles and solve them at your leisure:

I.   Ancient Landmarks Crossword
II.  Prehistoric Double Puzzle
III. Time Travel

Crossword answers can be sent as just a list of correct words, with their corresponding numbers.

Double puzzle solution can be sent as a list of the unscrambled clue words and the final answer word.

The two winning write-ups for the Time Travel will be featured on the winners announcement post.

All-correct (and if none, then most-correct) answers will be entered into a drawing to pick two random winners.

Results will be announced by November 22, 2014 and the winners will be contacted via email.

How to enter?
-email your solutions to contest.saffrontree@gmail.com
-only one entry per family
-answers to all puzzles must be sent in a single email to be considered for the drawing

Congratulations Shruthi Rao, this year's Crocusword winner! We'll be in touch via email.

We loved your seven year old's Time Travel piece, which we are happy to share here:

"If I could go back in time, I would have liked to be a mammoth because woolly mammoths were very furry and must have been so nice to feel. I like snow and I could live in the snow and I would not feel cold because I would have a woolly coat. I feel sad for them because they are extinct. Do you know what I am going to do when I grow up? I am going to be a mammoth researcher and try to get mammoths back to life."
