Author: Allan Ahlberg
Illustrator: Bruce Ingman
Ages: 4-8 years
We remembered another whacky Ahlberg book - Each Peach Pear Plum.Previously we loved Previously and spent the day making up similar versions of everything we wanted to say!
Previously we read it.
Previously I bought it.
Previously I went to the Strand Book Fair, spotted Allan Ahlberg's name and grabbed it.
You get the drift I suppose! The book goes in reverse and is a riot! It mixes up tales of Goldilocks, Jack & the Beanstalk, Jack & Jill, a frog who was previously a prince, Cinderella and the Gingerbread Man into a hilarious cocktale (mispelling intended) the likes of which Ahlberg excels in creating. At the end of the book, life is just beginning on the planet!

LOL Sounds quirky!
LOL! who is the publisher?
I just put the other title you mentioned on hold (Each Peach Pear Plum) from our library.
Can't wait top check out Allan Ahlberg.
Poppy: It is, and appeals big time to a child's sense of humour!
Explorekids: Candlewick Press, and the blurb says 'missed be to not' :)
utbt: Cool! We absolutely love that book. Do let me know what yo think, okay?
Previously I had less books to buy!
This sounds very interesting, thanks, Chox! Like the chain stories, 'Previously' could become a game with the little ones...
Love it! I'm amazed how one can come up with such neat stuff - creative and funny. Ahlberg Allen is it:)?
sathish: LOL!
Sheela: with your creativity, i can only try to imagine where the game will go!

this book was a riot! so was 'each peach pear plum'. also found 'the pencil' by the same author, which reminded me so much of 'harold and the purple crayon'.
here it was the other way - harold's purple crayon reminded me of the pencil since we read them in that order!
also worth checking out is julia donaldson's the magic paintbrush.
